Midweek Furnace
Another key aspect of our discipleship journey at Eastgate is the Midweek Furnace on Wednesday evenings. This powerful equipping evening, based at Eastgate, provides training and activation through multiple courses along with a time of worship and an opportunity to eat together. Some of our courses last for 6 weeks, some for 12 weeks. Most need to be signed up for.

Midweek Furnace FAQ
Why is it called the midweek furnace?
The timing of the evenings
At 6:00 pm we meet for prayer in the Eastgate Prayer Space. From 6:30 pm onwards, we gather in the café area to eat together. At 7:15 pm, we have a time of powerful worship and prayer. From around 8:00 pm we then break into various courses for the remainder of the evening. We aim to finish by 9:30pm.
Eating together and worship
We provide some simple food and refreshments free of charge on the evening (there will be an opportunity to donate financially towards your food). You can also buy Pizza from a Pizza van in the car park, and you can, of course, bring your own food as well. (Eastgate Café will not be open for orders during the evening.) We eat together from 6:30 pm, following our time of prayer, until we transition to our courses at 8:00 pm. Worship starts from 7:15 pm and will be held either in the café area or one of the adjacent rooms. This is so that those of you who cannot make it until later in the evening can still eat with us and join in the worship. All we ask is that you keep conversations to a minimum once worship has started. At around 8:00 pm, we then transition to our different groups.

DO I NEED TO BE AVAILABLE FOR EVERY WEEK OF MY COURSE?
We appreciate life happens. So, it’s not always possible to attend every week of a course. However, we do encourage you to make every effort to attend all the sessions you can. So much of the value of the courses comes through the going on a journey together and a number of courses have incremental teaching.
