What we do

What we do

Our youth group is for school years 7 – 13, run by a team led by Jo Bungay and Dave Carter.

Sunday mornings

The youth group worships with the main meeting at Eastgate for the first 30 minutes, then has its own meeting for the rest of the morning. We meet in two age groups- 11-14’s and 15-18’s. These are fun, relaxed groups that aim to connect young people with God and each other.

A typical Sunday morning involves games, bible study, prayer, biscuits and enjoying God’s presence. We seek to give our young people regular opportunity to move in spiritual gifts and enjoy the supernatural goodness of God.

EgY (Eastgate Youth)

This is a social event that runs from 7.30 – 9.30pm on the second Friday of every month, at Eastgate. It’s a fun evening for our youth to come along to and also bring their friends. Activities include table-tennis, pool tables, tuck shop, games consoles, milkshake bar and group games.

Other activities

For the past couple of years our youth group has attended Soul Survivor; a week of camping, outreach, worship and fellowship attended by thousands of teenagers from around the country (see soulsurvivor.com).

As well as our regular programme, there are other social events, opportunities to meet in smaller groups for discipleship and chances to serve within the rest of the church.
