Questions about the daytime school

The following list of frequently asked questions (FAQ’s) provides more information about the daytime school. If this doesn’t answer questions you may have please get in touch using the form on our contact page.

  • What do you mean by a 'daytime' school?

The day time ESSL will run on Thursday and Friday from 9.30am to 5.30pm. Additionally, there will be a required reading list, Bible reading programme and short homework assignments. It is expected that students will attend during these times and complete the reading and homework requirements. Outside the school environment there will be other activities that will help activate the learning.

  • What are the school hours?

    9.30am – 5.30pm, Thursday and Friday.

  • What are the school dates?

The school year will run from 14th September 2017 to 25th May 2018; approximately 30 weeks with breaks at Christmas and Easter.

  • Where is the school?

The school will run at Eastgate, 141 Springhead Parkway, Northfleet, DA11 8AD.

  • Who can apply?

The school is open to adult Christians from all denominations as we believe the supernatural lifestyle should be the ‘natural’ lifestyle for all Christians. Please see the application page for more information.

  • Can I still be involved in my local church?

Yes, definitely. If you have specific responsibilities at your church that may affect school attendance or reading/homework please get in touch to discuss this.

  • What about childcare?

We are unable to provide any childcare. Those with children would need to make their own arrangements.

  • What about accommodation and transport?

Members of the church are sometimes able to offer one or two nights’ accommodation to students who live some distance away. However, each student is responsible for their own living expenses including housing and transport.

  • Can visitors attend?

This may be possible but those wishing to visit for a day would need prior agreement from the school leadership. We offer taster days to people considering joining the school who would like to spend a day in the environment to see if it would be a good fit for them. If you are interested in a taster day, please get in touch.

  • What is the cost?

The school relies entirely on the students’ fees. The full cost of the first year 2017-2018 is £2150 (including all books for the required reading list). Please note that the fees will be held at an early bird rate of £2050 for applications made before the 30th June 2017.

There are several payment plans available, do not hesitate to contact us for more information.

  • Can I work and attend the school?

We understand that students may need to work part-time to support themselves and such work could provide a valuable opportunity to put into practice what has been learnt at the school. However, wisdom will be required to maintain the correct school/work balance. Please get in touch if you wish to discuss this.

  • Is there anything else I need?

Internet access and an email account are necessary as most of the school/student communication happens via e-mail. As you’re reading this page we’ll assume you have Internet access! If you don’t have an email account there are many free options available such as Gmail and Hotmail. Access to Microsoft Word is also extremely useful but if you don’t have Word on your computer you can always use Microsoft’s free on-line Office Web Apps. You’ll also need access to a printer to print off assignments and other work.

  • How do I apply?

Please see the information on the application page.
