What do you do here?
I am chairman of the trustees as well as being a director. I therefore have a responsibility for Eastgate’s wellbeing and governance. I work full time as a construction director for a major housing developer.
In 1980 when I was 18, I was introduced by my best friend to a group of young Christians in New Ash Green. This is where I met my future wife Kate. I’ve faithfully stuck around doing what I can to help. This has included leading children’s work, leading the worship team, running home groups, overseeing home groups and being part of the leadership team for the last 20 years and a trustee for the last 11 years. I have also together with Kate raised our family of 4 children.
What’s your passion?
Having been part of Eastgate’s growth and development, I am passionate to see a continued presence centred approach. I also want to see excellent governance and organisation so that Eastgate remains a safe place for people to take risks. We have many talented and gifted people and our challenge is to give everyone the opportunity to develop to their full potential. I see myself therefore as a fireplace providing a place of safety, whilst working alongside inspired individuals and ministries. Having been instrumental in building the new development at Springhead Park and having led the team that built the Eastgate building, I want to see Eastgate influence many generations in both the local and wider community.
What do you love?
My wife and children, building and developing teams, most sports, Van Gogh.
